Cabbage stew and Irish potatoes

Recipe

  • Cabbage stew and Irish potatoes

Serves

  • 5 People

Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage equal to 1kg

  • 1kg of flesh beef

  • 1 kg of Irish potatoes

  • 8 flesh tomatoes

  • ¼ kg of groundnut oil ( peanut oil)

  • 3 cubes of maggi ( vegetables stock)

  • 1 ½ tablespoon of salt

  • ¼ kg of crayfish

  • 2 tablespoon of slice green spices ( leak and cutmajo )

  • 1 teaspoon of ground garlic

  • 2 flesh peppers ground ( yellow or red)

Preparation of cabbage stew

  • Cut the meat to the number of slices that you want

  • Put the meat in a pot, add a teaspoon of salt , one teaspoon green spices, ¼ onion and two liter of water and boil it for two hour.

  • Slice the cabbage, put it in a new pot add teaspoon of salt and wash it until water started coming out of it.

  • When the water is coming out, add two liters of water to it and wash it for five minutes and drainer out the water, and press it with your hand so that the water should come out well. Or you boil water and put the cabbage inside and stir it for seven minutes and remove the pot from the fire and add cold water and stir it and drainer out the water and press the cabbage with your hands so that the water should come out.

  • Stand a new pot in the fire and put oil inside and let it hot for ten minutes and you add salt, onion, tomatoes, and stir it for fifteen minutes and add crayfish, garlic, pepper, vegetable stock and meat and stir it for ten minutes and add the remaining water of boil meat if any if not, you add a small cup of water in to it and allow it for another ten minutes and remove the pot from the fire.

Preparation for potatoes

  • Clean the potatoes, wash it and put it in a new pot and add ½ liter of water.

  • Stand it in the fire, after thirty five minutes remove the pot form the fire.
